Physician Assistant

A physician assistant (PA) is a health care provider who practices medicine under the supervision of a physician. The clinical roles of PAs include primary and specialty care in medical and surgical practice settings in rural and urban areas. A PA’s duties can include: performing a physical exam and taking a medical history, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, diagnosing and treating illnesses, recommending and prescribing medications and drug therapies, suturing wounds, setting fractures, and assisting in surgeries. Pre-PA program is designed to help students succeed in gaining acceptance to a physician assistant program after graduation.
